庭の柿が鈴成りです。小粒ですがとっても甘いThe persimmons in our garden are hanging like bells. They’re small, but very sweet.
昨年は不作でしたが今年は頑張りました
Last year, our persimmon tree had a poor harvest, but this year is a good year.
Persimmons tend to have alternating good years and bad years.
Birds are gathering from early morning, chirping as they peck at the persimmons.
Since there are only a few of us in the household, we harvest just a bit, which is enough.
The rest, we offer to the birds.
I once tried making dried persimmons, but it was a total failure.
All of them went bad.
I think the reason was the high humidity and lack of good airflow.
We own an old house by the seaside, and people around there seem to dry persimmons with no issues.
Since we only stay there for about a week, it might be a bit too short to make dried persimmons at this beach house.
Everyone ties up their persimmons beautifully under the eaves to dry.
Maybe the sea breeze helps.
