コロナ以降ご家族だけで送られるご葬儀が多くなった
Could it be due to the change of seasons? Two relatives of mine, though not very close, passed away one after another in November.
In both cases, I was informed after the funerals had already taken place, as they were held privately with only the immediate family.
I believe this trend reflects one of the changes in lifestyle brought about by COVID-19. Until not so long ago, funerals were often held on a relatively large scale, and this was considered the norm.
However, during the pandemic, it became difficult for people to gather.
At the same time, I feel that the idea of holding intimate funerals with only those very close to the deceased has emerged as a new perspective, emphasizing the depth of love and care in bidding farewell.
As I pray for the repose of their souls, these are the thoughts that came to mind.
